HOW TO USE IT

Biochar is different from conventional charcoal and should be used differently. It lights faster; your coals will be ready sooner and you can quickly get down to grilling your food.

As biochar is very pure, it emits more heat and you won’t need as much biochar as you would conventional charcoal.

Its purity can also be seen in that it produces very little smoke and hardly any sparks or flame. Even when fat drips from food onto biochar coals and is set alight, it goes out almost at once.

Set up your grill in a clean, level place. Place the biochar is a pyramid shape with a fire starter in the middle; light the fire starter. Wait about 10 minutes, then spread the charcoal around the grill tray. As soon as the flame goes out and the coals are red hot, you can safely start grilling your food.
